In response to the most recent government update that came into effect from Monday 22 February 2021, we want to keep you fully up to date regarding our services.
As always, the safety and wellbeing of Orbit customers, employees and contractors is our number one priority, and all safety guidance we have in place will continue to be strictly adhered to.
Where possible we will continue to deliver our repairs and maintenance services, prioritising emergency and safety appointments. If you are not comfortable with contractors entering your home or in cases where work required is less urgent, repair work will be logged and scheduled at a later date.
Any of our employees or contractors who need to visit your home will adhere to covid-safe practices including wearing a face mask and social distancing. We ask that all customers notify us before a visit should you or any member of your household display any coronavirus symptoms, are self-isolating or shielding, so we can make suitable arrangements.
Our call centre remains open and fully staffed, teams are out and about every day keeping estates safe, clean and tidy, and our contractors have contingency plans in place to ensure continuation of services. We are also taking specific steps to protect our older and vulnerable customers in our Independent Living schemes.
We understand just how challenging the current situation is for everyone and I would remind you that we are able to offer free independent advice and support across a range of topics including wellbeing, mental health, food hardship, money advice, rent payments and employment support.
During this difficult time, we will do all that we can to ensure that you feel secure and safe in your home. If you have any concerns in relation to your home or paying your rent, please do contact our team. You can get in touch by checking our website or calling us on 0800 678 1221 – we’re here to help.
We will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation and follow Government guidance as the vaccination programme is implemented. We will keep you fully updated at the appropriate times as we begin to exit the current restrictions.
Please stay safe and take care of each other.
