The aims of the project are to:
- improve the space for wildlife
- increase the number of pollinators like bees and butterflies
- encourage local people to use and get involved in park improvements
- make it a space for people to improve their wellbeing through connecting with nature
We conducted a 'bioblitz' to survey all the wildlife that currently exists on the site and found 77 different species, with 57 of those being plants. We now want to improve these numbers and with your help, we want to:
- plant more native flowering plants for wildlife – especially pollinators
- create more structure for wildlife and places to live, feed and breed
- change the management of the site to help wildlife – reduce intensively mown areas
- make space for people to enjoy the area and wildlife
We want local people to get involved, helping turn an unloved space into one loved by people and wildlife.
